WELCOME.

I’m an award-winning journalist, author, and editor who writes and edits non-fiction for books, magazines, and newspapers.

In 2018, I won the Dave Greber Freelance Writers Magazine Award for this story, which was published in the May 2018 edition of the UC Observer, now Broadview.

In 2012, I won the George Cadogan Memorial Outstanding Columnist Award from the Canadian Community Newspapers Association.

I have a Master of Journalism degree from the University of King’s College in Halifax, NS.

Great to hear that you have done an oral history on 22 Minutes and will be reading it and recommending it – even if my teaching of the history of the film and television of Atlantic Canada at SMU has been retired. Indeed, there are many such subjects that I have collected contacts and resources on in my almost 50 years now of being an historian of sound and the moving image and consulting archivist – and would love to make them available if you do further work in these areas.
